Bzantium 2010

What a year it was! We lost 2 whippets, Susie had back surgery, and our brother in law died. But toease the sadness and pain we had some good results in the show ring this year.

While our 2 remaining whippets grace the couch, the Salukis have been very busy.

Our smooth boy, co-owned with Marilyn Brown, Grand Ch BISS Ch Dadaelis Bzantium Ritu Kumar had a really fabulous year. Thanks to Kathy Searles, Kumar’s good friend and handler for handling to his wins.

The most exciting win was receiving Best of Opposite Sex at the Saluki Club of America’s national show in Lexington, Kentucky over 435 entries. He was shown by Sally Reigle to his win.

He also won BOB and a Group 2 at the Bellingham All Hound Show the only day he was entered that weekend and got a Select Award at the Willamete Valley Saluki Club Specialty show and both days of the Clackamas All Breed Shows. He won Best of Breed at the Alberta Kennel Club show in Calagry, Canada.

BISS Canadian Champion Dadaelis Bzantium Kokkinos Pethi, a Kumar son from his first litter, co-owned by Kathy Jones, Marilyn Brown, and Susan Manthou also had a fabulous year. Mussa was winners dog, from the 9-12 mo class at the Saluki club of America’s National Show and Best Puppy. He was also WD the same day that Kumar was BOB at the Bellingham Hound Show.

Mussa also received a 5 pt major WD/BW at the Saluki club of San Francisco Specialty show. He was able to finish his Canadian Championship in one weekend this summer in Calgary.

Kumars daughter, Kalini , from the first litter (living in Tennessee) received a 4 pt major this summer and now has 8 pts. A Second daughter, Cozette, was WB this last year and received a puppy group 3. She is now in South Carolina and will be shown after she matures a little more.

Our cream boy, Dadaelis T’Ku Bzantium Zeimbekiko, is maturing nicely and will be shown later this year at the specialty shows. Due to Susie’s back problems and surgery he was not shown that much this year. Dadaelis and Bzantium did a repeat breeding of Kumar and Zoe and 7 puppies arrived on November 3rd. Marilyn Brown and Susan Manthou will co-own a smooth son out of that litter to be shown late spring

The litter is Futurity Nominated.
