RACE MEET CANCELLATION & Race Practice Flyer
Western Washington Whippet Association
WWWA’s previously scheduled March 27/28, 2021 WRA/LGRA/NORTA meets are cancelled due to the ongoing US/Canada border closure and lack of practice opportunities due to COVID.
Instead we will be hosting a one day straight and partial oval practice to get our young and rusty dogs ready.
Saturday, March 27th, 2021
Breeds: Whippets and LGRA-eligible sighthounds only
9:00am: 150 yards, max 2 dogs per run to help us stay socially distant at the box and catching area. Or one family catching/boxing. We hope to get at least 2 practices per dog, more depending on the number of entries and weather.
Approximately 3:00pm: we will practice on half of an oval to get the dogs some oval racing experience.
Boxes will be available for practice and we hope to have a second set of boxes to let dogs get experience in the box away from the track. We will have wickets available for people to practice but will not be doing inspections for this practice. We would be happy to have help taking down at the end of the day.
$10.00 per dog. Advance registration required, no day-of entries!

General Rules
Please respect our workers and other competitors and stay 6' apart. I know it will be hard, we've missed each other, but we can do it!
Everyone must wear a mask when on the race field. You may remove it when in your set up/car area.
Please park at least 10' from other cars to give everyone room. There is plenty of room at the field to accommodate.
Masks must be of tightly woven cloth or disposable medical masks covering both nose and mouth with no open filtration. Face shields and neck gators are allowed but cannot replace masks. If you cannot wear a mask because of medical or other reasons, please stay home and attend another event in the future. Hopefully we will have more events this year, and more of us will be vaccinated and we can get back to a more normal future. Thanks for cooperating.
