Annual WWWA picnic, board and general membership meetings and practice!

The Western Washington Whippet Association is holding its annual summer picnic Saturday the 20th of June.   We would like to invite you to join us for a fun day.  Please see the invite below and RSVP to Shirley Konizeski at aumbre@earthlink.net by Wednesday the 17th.

Saturday, 20 June, WWWA is hosting its annual picnic for members and guests followed by a board and general membership meeting.  This year the picnic will be held at the Cascade Family Fliers model airplane strip south of the town of Snohomish.   Mark has graciously reserved the strip for us for the entire day.  Due to that, we thought it would be fun to have a lure practice prior to the picnic for those of us who are currently campaigning our dogs, have whippets that we are wanting to start, just want some conditioning runs, and puppies.  Puppies are always welcome at practice!

Practice will begin at 10:00 and will be straight runs.  The picnic will start at approximately noon or whenever all the dogs have had the opportunity for two runs.  And followed by a board and general meeting.  The picnic is potluck.  The club will donate hotdogs for grilling.  Please bring your own drinks other than water which will be provided by the club.  I have a brief list of categories of food items below.  Please RSVP me - aumbre@earthlink.net - a yes or no on attendance.   If you can take part, and we surely hope you can, let me know what you will be bringing.

  • buns for hotdogs
  • condiments - Mary (catsup and mustard)
  • salads
  • side dishes
  • desserts
  • chips and dips
  • veggies
  • fruits
  • plates, cups, utensils - Shirley
  • water - Shirley

Members, we'd appreciate a donation of $5.00 to help pay Mark for the rental of the field.   Also, bring water for your dogs, chairs for yourselves - there are picnic tables under cover but the seating is limited - poop bags, and if it's really hot, I would suggest canopies if you have them.   If you need directions to the field let me know.

This is gonna be fun folks!   An opportunity for guests and practice participants to get to know more members than just Mary, David and myself!   We have a beautiful, mowed strip to run our dogs on, parking in the shade, covered tables and a potty house.  Can't ask for much more than that!
