ASFA COMMUNIQUE – 2010.05

December 19th, 2010

First and foremost the Board wishes everyone in ASFA and their dogs a peaceful and joyful holiday season.  And may the New Year bring you and your club a successful coursing year.

Premiums linked on the Web Site

The ASFA Board of Directors, at the request of the Web Site Publications Committee, has approved linking trial dates on the "Events" page of the ASFA Web site to the premium list for that trial.

This is an exciting feature that will bring new dogs and participants to your field trials.  For exhibitors interested in the details of a trial, all they will have to do is click on the club's initials in the trial schedule to be linked to a copy of the premium list for that trial that they can download.

Please pass along to your field trial secretaries or those that are in charge of your distribution list to add the following e-mail address to your distribution list.  Asfa.premiums@gmail.com.  If you have the ability to send your premiums in pdf format that is ideal, but if not Microsoft Word format will work as well.  If possible please put your club's initials and the date of your trial in the subject line.  (i.e. asfa  3/26 & 3/27)

Hall of Fame

The deadline for submission of nominees for the Hall of Fame is fast approaching.  It's January 31st, 2011.  Nomination forms can be found on the ASFA web site.  Click on Hall of Fame under the ASFA Honors section at the bottom of the left hand column on the home page.  Once in the Hall of Fame section you can click on the forms for nominations of dogs and people.  Please send your nominations to Dean Wright, 1710 Rawlins Road, Holtwood, PA  17532.

2011 ACoD

It is not too early to make your plans for the 2011 ACoD.  It will be held on March 19th and 20th at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Omaha, NE.  The convention hotel is near the airport.  The room rate is $109.00 per night which includes a full sit-down breakfast. There is also a two-hour cocktail reception every night. The $8 parking fee will be reduced $4.  Additional details will be forthcoming.

2011 International Invitational

This year's II is being held at Morven Park, VA on the weekend of May 14th and 15th.  So start making plans to attend.  It's a beautiful location with room to run 3 fields simultaneously.  The 2008 II was held at the same location with great reviews.  It will be hosted by the ASFA and Tri-State Sighthound Club.  The premium list will be available after the first of the year.

New Entry Form

The new entry form reflecting the additional optional Bench Stake has now been uploaded on the web site.  It can be found in the left hand column on the web site under "Forms and Rules".  Again pass this along to your club's Field Trial Secretary or the person responsible for compiling the premium lists for your trials.

Peace and joy to all.
