Practice update

It's come to my attention that I really messed up scheduling the October practices.  We will keep the 10 October (Sunday) practice as it doesn't interfere with a trial or race meet.  However, the practice on Saturday the 23rd, is being rescheduled to Sunday the 31st. Please refer back to the Fall Practice Schedule post for more details about these practices. The weekend of the 16th and 17th, WWWA is putting on two ASFA lure trials.  They will take place at the Roy polo fields.  Go to http://www.wwwhippet.org/files/WWWA1010.pdf for the premium.  For those of you who have sighthounds ready to trial but haven't been certified, this is a very nice field for first time dogs.  You will need to arrange for a by-dog to run with your entry.  If you need help locating one, contact me and I will give it my best shot at finding one.   We are keeping our fingers crossed that the large hay field adjacent to where we are now practicing is available and the grass isn't too high.  If it looks good, David can set up a a zig-zag for practice.

The following weekend, the 23rd and 24th, the Ridgeback club is putting on an ASFA trial and the Region 1 invitational.  To enter the Region 1 invitational, your sighthound must have earned at least one point previously in an ASFA trial.   The two Roy trials and the RR trial on Saturday give three opportunities to obtain the necessary points to enter the Region 1 trial.  Certification runs will be offered before the trial on Saturday but will be limited to six.  If you want to do a certification run you'll need to notify the secretary soonest, and also provide a by-dog.  Go to http://www.asfaregion1.com/2010/NWRRC1010.pdf for the premium.

For those of you into racing, as far as I know, there will be a double header NOTRA at the Sowards in Goldendale at the end of the month.  There is also a NAWRA/NOTRA meet in Oregon the same weekend as the Region 1.
